What is a roundabout intersection?
A roundabout intersection, colloquially called a roundabout, is a special type of intersection where traffic flows around a central island in one direction – typically counterclockwise. Roundabouts are increasingly common on Polish roads because they improve traffic flow and safety.

- Sign C-12 "Roundabout traffic" – indicates that roundabout traffic applies at the intersection.
- Sign A-7 "Yield right of way" – most often placed before entering the roundabout, requires yielding to vehicles already on the roundabout.
It's worth remembering that the C-12 sign alone does not always mean that entering vehicles must yield! If there is no A-7 sign, the entering vehicle may have the right of way.

Rules of traffic on the roundabout
- Yield to vehicles already on the roundabout – if there is an A-7 sign before entry.
- Travel only in the direction indicated by sign C-12 – driving against traffic is not allowed.
- Signal your intention to change lanes and exit the roundabout – use turn signals.
- Do not stop on the roundabout without a justified reason – stopping may hinder traffic and cause a collision.
