New road sign F-23 coming soon to Polish roads. What is its meaning? Multifunctional center lane

ℹ️ The new F-23 sign informs about the middle multi-functional lane – a solution improving traffic flow in cities.

Soon on Polish roads, a new information sign will appear F-23. This is an important change in traffic organization, as this sign is intended to make it easier for drivers left turn and merging into traffic on streets with three lanes in built-up areas.

The middle lane marked with the F-23 sign is the so-called multi-functional lane – you can turn left from it or use it to safely merge into traffic. Drivers entering from a side road can stop there to let vehicles approaching from both directions pass, without blocking the traffic lane.

What does the F-23 sign look like?

The F-23 sign has a rectangular shape with a blue background and a white symbol of three traffic lanes, of which the middle one is distinguished by arrows in opposite directions. This symbol shows that the middle lane is for performing a left turn maneuver or for temporary entry from a subordinate road.

  • Background color: blue – information sign.
  • Symbolism: three traffic lanes, the middle one marked with two opposite arrows.
  • Application: multi-functional lanes in cities and on two-way roads.

The new F-23 sign is intended to increase safety in urban traffic, especially during peak hours. Drivers often risked turning left from the general lane, which led to collisions. Now a specially designated lane will allow the maneuver to be performed without hindering others' passage.

  • on wide streets in built-up areas,
