Vehicle Technical Inspections from September 2025 – What Changes in Prices and Regulations?

ℹ️ As of September 19, 2025, new fees for vehicle technical inspections are in effect – this is the first increase in over 20 years!

Why is the increase necessary?

  • The cost of a car inspection will rise from 98 zł to 149 zł – 51 zł more than currently.
  • New prices account for rising costs of running stations (SKP): wages, energy, equipment, legalization, rent – which have greatly increased over decades.
  • Poland has had some of the lowest prices in the EU so far; after changes, rates will remain competitive — similar to Hungary, Finland, Greece, Portugal.

New rates – examples

  • Passenger car / bus up to 15 people / vehicle < 3,5 t: 149 zł.
  • Motorcycle, agricultural tractor: 94 zł; moped: 76 zł.
  • Truck 3.5–16 t: 234 zł; over 16 t: 269 zł; truck trailers up to 3.5 t: 119 zł; LPG cars: 245 zł (including specialist inspection).

What else changes besides the price?

  • New mechanism of automatic fee indexing – linked to the price and services index, preventing cost suppression in the future.
  • Possibility to perform the inspection up to 30 days earlier, and the inspection validity will be extended to 13 months.
  • Inspectors will document the technical inspection with vehicle photos: odometer, all sides and front/rear — end of stamps just like that.
  • Fines for late technical inspection: up to 600 zł for 90 days delay (300% more).

How to prepare your car and yourself?
